Agnes Smith Elected AFSE President!

At the December membership meeting, Agnes Smith (ESPQ) was unanimously elected president of AFSE.  Joining Agnes in leadership are Vice-president Sue Chase (CE), and Secretary-Treasurer Betty Jeung (CR).  In addition to officers, shop stewards, who serve on AFSE’s Executive Committee were elected.

Outgoing AFSE President Teresa Rankin was recognized for her service.  During a reception, various AFSE members spoke of all that has been accomplished during Teresa’s tenure.

AFSE General Membership Meeting Set for Wednesday

A full day of union activities are on tap for Wednesday, December 17.   On Wednesday evening, AFSE will hold it’s General Membership meeting where officers will be elected.  You have previously been sent an email regarding the offices up for election.  Also, departmental shop stewards will be elected.

Contract Ratified!

Negotiations Updates Comments (62)

AFSE members overwhelmingly voted to ratify the 2008-11 contract.  Nearly 90% of AFSE members voted in the online election. 

Later in the day, the NEA Executive Committee also voted to ratify meaning the contract is now in effect.
