my heart will always be the b-side to my tongue

today, i walked several city blocks. twenty, maybe.

then, i accidentally stopped in at Borders Books to spend $70.00.

i went to bed early last night—eleven-o-clock. that’s really early for me. my usual is one Ambien at two ante-meridiem.

quality sleep sometimes inspires me to be creative about how i decide to procrastinate.

today, i used the city. i needed it—an expansive area—in which to lose myself. i have a lot to think about.

i was jacked into Elvis Costello & The Imposters.

walking among a city of strangers keeps me focused on me:

“shit! look at that dude’s hair… wonder if, when i get that old, i’ll need to part my hair that way?”
and, as i passed that building on 19th & M with the really reflective windows...
"nice ass…"
etc...

all in all, a productive walk, an unproductive day.

except, i did get this entry posted.

~~I'm the town crier
And everybody knows
I'm a little down
With a lifetime to go
Maybe you don't believe my heart is in the right place
Why don't you take a good look at my face
Other boys use the splendour of their trembling lip
They're so teddy bear tender and tragically hip~~
