
SDEA President Sandy Arseneault's interest in leveraging social networking with association business encouraged her to create her own network as "A place where our local presidents across the state stay connected to SDEA and network with each other."
Sandy is also a member of SDEA's over 20-member Virtual Membership Campaign Network, a private social network established to support leaders and staff throughout their Summer/Fall membership campaign. Sandy and other association leaders suggested that they all begin to apply a myriad of Web 2.0 tools to the work of membership organizing. Leaders and staff agree that understanding appropriate applications of these Web-based tools will prepare them for the near future when they'll expect to have to "go online" and recruiting new, younger members..
