As one plans to intervene in an institution or organization, one of the key first steps is to identify the exact client that will sponsor the intervention and system change initiative. On the surface, it may be obvious who the chief client would be. However, time needs to be taken to determine the client system (s) that exists so that the internal or external consultant can create the proper intervention and role clarification in the change process. The client is never just a single individual. There is a client system which impacts the organization.
The following definitions of OE (Organizational Effectiveness) and Organiztional Change reflect the perspectives of key OE theorists and practitioners.
The effectiveness of any organization depends upon its capacity to accomplish what it has set out to do: its mission or purpose.
Module 1 of the WROE Program is designed to provide the learning community with an understanding of the organizational effectiveness/development field and to provide opportunities to enhance the OE practitioner skills.
